While visiting my alma mater about a year ago, I was asked to speak to a couple of classes about my experience since leaving college. I shared my story, my background, where I came from and ultimately how I networked my way into working with some of my own childhood heroes and got to start doing things I had dreamed about since I was young. It was honestly one of the greatest experiences of my life, getting to share from my experience and encourage young people to examine where they’re at versus where they want to be and help them discover a pathway to getting there.
I’ve had countless conversations with other dreamers since then and while I’m not always well informed on their particular niche, the tools I’ve learned over the last four years can be applied to anything. It’s exciting for me to be able to help them develop a game plan of how they can achieve their goals. Because I understand the excitement that comes from getting to live out your dreams, it gives me great joy to walk beside others and help them along the same journey.

Networking: Your network is your net worth. Whether you’re looking for a job, a sale or a fresh start, knowing the right people who can give your name, brand, company or image the boost that it needs to thrive is imperative. I believe in creating mutually beneficial relationships that add value for everyone involved. Just because you’re not getting paid doesn’t mean you’re working for free. Over the last few years I’ve been featured in nearly every major magazine or website in my industry through networking, reaching out and being proactive about finding ways to contribute. In turn I’ve been recognized as an industry insider with numerous ties to major companies and organizations. The networking principles I focus on are: Show up, Just ASK and building credibility in your niche.
Faith: I’m a dreamer. I believe it when the Bible says God delights in giving us the desires of our hearts. It doesn’t happen over night and it always involves hard work patience, persistence and sacrifice. So often God pushes us to the limit to see if we will trust him, be it in relationships, careers, health or just about anything else. In my journey I’ve experienced high highs and low lows but one thing remains constant…God always comes through and He never disappoints.
Relationships: Dating is tricky now days. Guys won’t be men and girls won’t be ladies. Guys won’t man up and ask a girl out and girls start planning a wedding after a couple dates. And EVERYONE’S feelings get hurt FAR too quickly if things just don’t work out. I’m a fan of relationships and I believe they’re an important part of discovering who God wants you to spend the rest of your life with. I’m not a fan of over-spiritualizing them, I believe in getting to know some one, learning to communicate, learning to handle conflict and being completely committed.
